It really is, and we really should. It is also very complicated though. Although many parents do try very hard, many do fall short in some areas and it is not always their fault alone. We must however continue to do our best, and as far as possible safeguard against making major mistakes that will make things more difficult than they sometimes can be. Thanks for your input. I think this is a very important issue and a very important article. I work for www.firstwivesworld.com, it is an online community for women navigating through the various stages of divorce, and life thereafter. I have seen so many of our experts and members address this very issue. Divorce is one of the most stressful and turbulent times in a person’s life. Sometimes individuals do not realize that their children, also, are going through it. It is important to address this issue and prepare so that you can go through it and come out with everyone as unscathed as possible. It is possible, I’ve seen it in our community.

Thanks for your post Jane. You are right. More often parents tend to forget the children and their feelings. Hence my suggestion that both parents talk to them, let them know what will happen, assure them that it is not their fault and that they will always be loved by both of them. Thank you also for including the article from Divorce Magazine.
