As of March 1, 2008, I will be offering parenting and Divorce Education Classes at my office in Pembroke Pines. Parenting Classes are mandatory in the state of Florida for divorcing parents with minor children, unless they are exempted by a judge. In Miami-Dade county and some other counties in Florida, Children age 6-17 are also mandated to take special education classes which are designed to help them cope more effectively following divorce. Studies show that following divorce many adults and children are adversely affected and that some children cope better with a parent’s death than with divorce. Many years following divorce, some parents are still angry and are experiencing difficulties in several areas of their lives.
